Patrick "Pappy" Farrell - Obituary

atrick “Pappy” Mitchell Farrell, 91, of Shadyside, MD, passed away on June 9, 2026, surrounded by his family. Patrick was born on September 16th, 1934, to the late John and Elizabeth Farrell in Somerset, Kentucky. In 1970, Patrick married his soulmate, Catherine Ann. Together, they raised two daughters, Patricia Colbert and Bridget King. Patrick worked as a brick mason for 40 years. In retirement, he worked in retail until he was 75. Patrick was a dedicated provider who loved his family beyond measure. Patrick enjoyed playing the Maryland lottery, watching/attending horse races, and most of all loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially his namesake, Patrick Leneski. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Ann Farrell; his parents, John and Elizabeth Farrell; his brother, Jerome (Jere) Farrell; his grandson, Matthew Colbert; and his great-grandson, Daniel Faletto. In addition to his daughters, he is survived by five grandchildren, Brittany Will, Travis Colbert (Jessica), Zachary Colbert, Victoria King, and Rachel Wilkinson (Andrew); five great-grandchildren, Patrick Leneski, Christian Wilkinson, Brendan Faletto, Nathaniel Faletto, and Nathan Wilkinson; and a brother, John Farrell (Judi). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 28 from 1-4 pm at Dockside Restaurant and Sports Bar, 421 Deale Road, Tracys Landing, MD 20779.
